PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emission control device that can optimally detect a light amount of monitor light.SOLUTION: A light emission control device according to the present invention relates to a light emission control device of a camera conducting multi-flash photographing using a remote illumination device 40 performing preliminary light emission. The light emission control device comprises: an image pickup sensor 5 that meters ordinary light; a prediction calculation part 16 that determines whether or not the ordinary light metered by the image pickup sensor 5 is greater than a predetermined ordinary light threshold value; a neutral density (ND) filter control part 20 that, when the ordinary light is greater than the ordinary light threshold value, moves a neutral density filter 2 for reducing incident light to be entered to an imaging optical system 3 onto an optical axis A of the imaging optical system 3; and an illumination control part 14 that, when the neutral density filter 2 is moved onto the optical axis A, instructs the remote illumination device 40 to start the preliminary light emission after the neutral density filter 2 is moved. |
