PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber which is capable of effectively cutting infrared components in sunlight and has environmental resistance and durability, and a lighting device using sunlight including the same.SOLUTION: A light-transmissive substrate 5 is bonded, with an infrared reflection function film 5a as a bonding surface, to an upper end of an optical fiber 4 via an adhesive 6, so that infrared components in sunlight are cut by the infrared reflection function film 5a before impinging on the optical fiber 4 and heating of the optical fiber 4 can be suppressed. In addition, the substrate 5 sealing the infrared reflection function film 5a functions as a protection member to protect the infrared reflection function film 5a from mechanical damage and prevents the infrared reflection function film 5a from being exposed to a natural environment to be able to prevent oxidation and peeling of the film. Since a required size of the substrate 5 is approximately equal to a size of the end surface of the optical fiber 4, an area for formation of the infrared reflection function film 5a can be reduced to reduce a film formation device or the like in size and cost. |
