PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means for preventing burning of a driving element even when a temperature threshold is set to a relatively high temperature.SOLUTION: A printing device includes a print head having a plurality of wire pins and a plurality of driving elements for driving the wire pins by an electromagnetic force, selectively projects a wire pin by the driving element, and performs printing in a medium via an ink ribbon. The printing device includes protective operation means for regulating the printing operation of the print head to protect each driving element, and determination means for calculating a count value of the driving history of each driving element by a predetermined method and comparing the calculated count value with a predetermined threshold value to determine the necessity of execution of the protective operation means. |
