A robot cleaner, capable of recognizing its position without being affected by the brightness of a light source besides performing sterilization to a floor surface during position recognition work, is disclosed. The robot cleaner clearly checks its position in an unstable inner condition and a position condition besides returning the cleaner to the designated reference position coordinates and easily adjusting a route of the cleaner according to a user convenience. In addition, the robot cleaner performs sterilization of the floor surface and the position recognition of the cleaner using a UV LED as a light source for the position recognition and quickly performs sterilization and cleaning without warming up before the sterilization. It can also minimize an economic burden of a user by having high efficiency and a long life span while using low power.
