PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of reducing deterioration of image quality caused by temperature unevenness within the screen.SOLUTION: A display device of the present invention includes a backlight capable of controlling a light emission luminance according to each division area obtained by dividing a screen. The display device includes: acquisition means for acquiring a statistic of an image displayed in the division area according to each division area; determination means for determining a light emission luminance of a backlight according to each division area on the basis of the statistic in each division area; and backlight control means for causing the backlight to emit light at the light emission luminance determined by the determination means according to each division area. When the image to be displayed is switched, the determination means determines the light emission luminance of each division area in a switching period in which the image to be displayed is switched, so as to reduce temperature unevenness within the screen generated by difference of light emission luminance among the division areas, determined on the basis of the statistic of the image before switching. |
