PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a clunking noise of a dog clutch more effectively while preventing the time required for gear shifting from becoming longer, in an automatic transmission apparatus in which a multi-speed type transmission mechanism having a dog clutch is driven by an actuator.SOLUTION: An automatic transmission apparatus 50 according to the present invention, comprises: a transmission mechanism 43 having a plurality of transmission gears engaging with each other via a dog clutch and changing a combination of the engaging transmission gears according to turning of a shift drum 421; a shift actuator 70; and a control device 90 for controlling the shift actuator 70 by application of a voltage. The control device 90 has a braking control unit 94 that executes a control process at the time of a gear shifting operation of releasing engagement of a pair of transmission gears and engaging another pair of transmission gears. The control process includes the steps of applying one of positive and negative voltages to release the engagement of the pair of transmission gears, and then applying the other one of the positive and negative voltages before the other pair of transmission gears completes the engagement. |
