PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which a polymer dye is more efficiently produced by polymerizing an amino compound and a dihalogeno compound in the presence of a catalyst and a base, and by shortening polymerization time.SOLUTION: An amino compound represented by formula (I) and a dihalogeno compound represented by formula (II):X-D-X, where D represents an organic dye group and X represents a halogen atom, are polymerized while being irradiated with microwave in the presence of a catalyst containing a palladium compound and a phosphine compound, and a base to produce a polymer dye containing a repeating unit represented by formula (III), where R, Rand Rare each a monocyclic carbon ring group, a condensed polycyclic carbon ring group, a monocyclic heterocyclic group, a condensed polycyclic heterocyclic group or a ring assembly group, and may be same or different, and n represents an integer of 0 to 10. |
