PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved cold storage heat exchanger having a high cold storage speed, etc.SOLUTION: An evaporator (cold storage heat exchanger) 6 comprises: a refrigerant pipe 20; a fin 25; and a cold storage material container 30. The cold storage material container 30 is disposed adjacent to the refrigerant pipe 20. A cold storage material 50 is accommodated within the cold storage material container 30. The cold storage material container 30 has a plurality of recesses 36 and 37. The recesses 36 and 37 are dimples. The plurality of the recesses 36 and 37 are joined to each other at top portions thereof, and provide high rigidity. The cold storage material container 30 is positioned in the refrigerant pipe 20 by a fitting projection 38. An opening end of the open type recess 36 is covered with refrigerant pipe 20. The cold storage material 50 can flow into the open type recess 36. Thus the cold storage material 50 comes into direct contact with the refrigerant pipe 20 and is directly cooled by a refrigerant.
