MINIMUM SHIFT MODULATION METHOD AND MINIMUM SHIFT MODULATION RECEPTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a minimum shift modulation method having modulation/demodulation characteristics in which a timing margin for identifying a signal in the case of demodulation is enlarged.SOLUTION: There is provided a minimum shift modulation method in which CP-FSK modulation is performed by setting a frequency shift in such a manner that a phase difference between neighboring symbols becomes &pgr; in a frequency modulator which performs the frequency shift in accordance with a binary baseband signal. In the minimum shift modulation method, transmission series of the baseband signal inputted to the frequency modulator are coded by a dipolar RZ signal. There is provided another minimum shift modulation method in which quadrature CP-FSK modulation is performed by setting a frequency shift in such a manner that a phase difference between neighboring symbols becomes an odd multiple of &pgr;/4 in a frequency modulator which performs the frequency shift in accordance with a quadrature baseband signal. In the minimum shift modulation method, transmission series of the baseband signal inputted to the frequency modulator are coded by a dipolar multilevel RZ signal.
