PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy-saving type agitator which suppresses calorific power, is also easily maintained, user-friendly, in which there is flexibility in an installation position, and whose agitation ability can also be adjusted.SOLUTION: A melting furnace with a permanent magnet type pump comprises: a furnace body having a molten metal chamber for storing molten metal; and an agitator for agitating the molten metal in the furnace body, in which the agitator is constituted by comprising: a molten metal drive chamber constitution part which is arranged in the molten metal chamber to form a drive chamber both ends of which are opened for giving driving force to the molten metal; a pair of electrodes arranged in the drive chamber for supplying current into the drive chamber under existence of the molten metal; and a magnetic field device depending on a permanent magnet arranged outside the furnace body, in which one of an N pole and an S pole faces the furnace body, a magnetic field line from the one pole crosses the current to generate electromagnetic force for driving the molten metal from one end to the other end in the drive chamber. |
