PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that when a user turns on an image reader where a carriage is fixed by a lock part without performing manual operation and conducts image reading operation, the image reader tries to move the fixed carriage and a driving part is damaged.SOLUTION: An image reader includes: a carriage 14 on which an image reading sensor is mounted; a guide rail 13 which slidably guides the carriage 14 in a guide direction; a driving part which moves the carriage 14; and an outer restriction part 16 and an inner restriction part 18 which are provided at a lower housing 10, form gaps S1, S2 with the carriage 14, and restrict the movement of the carriage 14 in a direction that intersects with a guide direction. |
