PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat sink manufacturing method which can manufacture a necessary portion precisely enough and highly efficiently even when the heat sink is extremely small in size.SOLUTION: A heat sink manufacturing method includes the steps for: preparing a heat sink base material 2 in a thin sheet shape; forming a plurality of grooves extending in parallel with each other with prescribed intervals therebetween on a surface of the heat think base material; coating the surface of the heat sink base material with a metal film 10; and arranging a bonding material 12 at a plurality of regions at prescribed intervals between the grooves on the surface of the heat sink material and in the groove extending direction. The heat sink manufacturing method further repeats the steps for: polishing one end surface 14 in the groove extending direction; cutting the heat sink base material in an orthogonal direction to the grooves to form strip-like pieces 18; and polishing the one end surface in the groove extending direction of the heat sink material 2 being cut, to make thickness of the strip-like pieces into a heat sink finish thickness. In the end, the strip-like pieces are divided along the grooves and each individual heat sink is formed.
