PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an area specification method for allowing a user to select a desired area.SOLUTION: An acquisition part acquires information on a position specified by a user for selecting an area in an input image. A selected area calculation part calculates an area on an object surface as the area selected by the user, by use of a transformation matrix of the object surface corresponding to the position information specified by the user from among calculated transformation matrices between an object surface, which is a perspective projection surface formed of objects in the input image, and an axis orthogonal plane. This invention can be applicable to an image processing apparatus that allows a user to select a desired area in an image. |
