PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat insulating housing capable of preventing leakage of a foamed heat insulating material from a joining portion of a back plate and a side plate in foaming and charging the foamed heat insulating material between an outer box and an inner box, while improving heat insulating performance.SOLUTION: An engagement recessed portion 12 having a substantially U-shaped cross section, opened backward, is formed on a rear end portion of a side plate 11 of an outer box 51 of a heat insulating housing 50. A back plate 1 of the outer box 51 includes a flange 5 extended to a side plate 11 side, and the flange 5 has an insertion portion 3 inserted to the engagement recessed portion 12, and a non-insertion portion 4 projecting from the engagement recessed portion 12. The insertion portion 3 is composed of a folded portion 3a folded stepwise, a basic end-side plate portion 3b disposed at a non-insertion portion 4 side with respect to the folded portion 3a, and a tip-side plate portion 3c disposed at a tip side with respect to the folded portion 3a. The basic end-side plate portion 3b of the insertion portion 3 is kept into contact with a side portion 12a in the engagement recessed portion 12, and the tip-side plate portion 3c is kept into contact with a side face portion 12b in the engagement recessed portion 12. |
