PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling motion of a tandem mill by which stable rolling can be achieved by a small number of parameters while the action of a looper is considered.SOLUTION: A method for controlling motion of a tandem mill is configured as follows. A manipulated variable for use in controlling a tension of a rolled material and an angle of a looper is a circumferential speed of a rolling mill roll and an angular velocity of the looper. While the angular velocity of the looper is followed to a command value that is output from a looper angle controller to a looper angular velocity controller, a command value is output from a tension controller to a roll circumferential speed controller so as to make the tension of the rolled material and the angle of the looper follow respective target values. Also, a command value is output to the looper angular velocity controller from the looper angle controller. An addition command value obtained by adding a biased command value, which is determined on the basis of a tension deviation, or a measurement value or estimate of the tension of the rolled material, to the command value that is output from the looper angular velocity controller to a looper drive part is input to the looper drive part, and the looper is driven on the basis of the addition command value which has been input. |
