PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce errors caused by generation of magnetic anisotropy in a magnetic detection element.SOLUTION: A rotation magnetic field sensor 1 comprises: detection circuits 10, 20, and 30 for generating signals S1, S2, and S3 respectively; and arithmetic circuits 61 and 62. The detection circuit 10 comprises a first MR element, and the detection circuit 30 comprises a third MR element. The detection circuit 20 includes a second MR element set with first magnetic anisotropy that is not set in the first and third MR elements. The first arithmetic circuit 61 obtains correction information for correcting errors, generated in detection values &thetas;s, and caused by second magnetic anisotropy generated in the first MR element. The first arithmetic circuit obtains correction information for correcting errors, generated in detection values, and caused by the second magnetic anisotropy generated in the first MR element. Then, detection information is obtained based on two different signals of one of first signals generated by the detection circuit 10 and second signals generated by the detection circuit 20. The arithmetic circuit 62 calculates the detection values &thetas;s with the signals S1 and S3 and the correction information. |
