PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermosensitive recording material unaffected by humidity variations of external environments ranging from low-humidity environments to high-humidity environments, capable of performing, even in high-speed recording mode, stable recording actions without entailing background fogging phenomena or blocking phenomena, and excellent in terms of stability at the time of the manufacture thereof; and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: The provided thermosensitive recording material is a thermosensitive recording material possessing, on one surface of a substrate, a thermosensitive recording layer including a colorless or light-colored basic dye and a coloring agent reactive with the basic dye and, on the other surface of the substrate, an antistatic layer in which the antistatic layer includes at least one type selected from the group consisting of smectite clay and hectorite clay and at least one type selected from the group consisting of phosphates and starches and derivatives thereof. It is desirable for the air permeability of the substrate to be 50 sec or below. |
