An optical member, a manufacturing method thereof, an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) having the optical member and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to arrange the optical member with a phase delay member oppositely to the outside reflection portion of an LCD panel, thereby offering the excellent image quality. In a trans-reflecting type LCD panel(200), the first and second substrates(210,220) are arranged oppositely to each other. A liquid crystal layer(219) is interposed between the first and second substrates. The trans-reflecting type LCD panel defines a reflection area(RA) and a transmission area(TA). The first polarizing member(241) is arranged at the lower portion of the first substrate. A phase delay member(230) having a phase delay portion(230a) and the second polarizing member(242) are arranged at the upper portion of the second substrate selectively. The phase delay portion of the phase delay member is formed oppositely to the reflection area. The non-phase delay portion(230b) of the phase delay member is formed at an area except for the reflection area. |
