PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing calluses or a culture containing the calluses is provided to improve skin whitening or anti-wrinkling effect. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition contains a culture containing calluses which are cultured in a medium containing useful substances for culturing or the calluses acquired from the culture as an active ingredient. The calluses are derived from Trigonotis peduncularis, Phaseolus angularis, or Sophora japonica. A method for manufacturing the cosmetic composition comprises the steps of: inducing calluses from a plant seed in the medium containing the useful substances and culturing the calluses; and producing the cosmetic composition containing the calluses or the culture containing the calluses. The useful substances are quercetin, silymarin, lipoic acid, or a mixture thereof. The plant is Trigonotis peduncularis, Phaseoli semen, or Sophora japonica.
