Provided herein are placental stem cells for use in a method for treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, scleroderma, or mycosis fungoides, wherein the method comprises administering said placental stem cells in a therapeutically effective amount that is sufficient to cause a detectable improvement in one or more symptoms of said inflammatory bowel disease, scleroderma, or mycosis fungoides; and wherein said placental stem cells are (i) CD73 + , CD105 + , and HLA-G + , (ii) CD200 + and Oct-4 + , or (iii) CD29 + , CD44 + , CD73 + , CD90 + , CD105 + , CD200 + , CD34 - and CD133 - .
