A method and an apparatus for determining an input character based on dragging on a touch display are provided. The touch display detects a touch on a first key of a first keyboard outputted on the screen of the touch display, among a plurality of keyboards, and detects the dragging for the touch. A processor determines an input character based on the first key and the direction of the dragging. The input character may be a character corresponding to a key at the same position of the first key, among the keys of the keyboards, and may be a character determined to be inputted to an electronic device based on the number of touch when the first key is consecutively touched more than one time.
