PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique in which, when predicting a route on which a mobile body travels, a predicted route length is maintained while suppressing increase of a calculation amount.SOLUTION: A route prediction device includes: a road information storage part 11 for storing information indicative of a road network; a positional information acquisition part 12 for acquiring positional information of a mobile body; a predicted route creation part 13 for predicting a route, on which the mobile body travels in the road network, up to a prescribed length to thereby create a predicted route of the mobile body of the prescribed length; predicted route information storage part 14 for storing predicted route information; a predicted route extension part 15 for predicting a route on which the mobile body travels from an end point of the predicted route by the traveled distance on the predicted route in which the mobile body has travelled from a spot indicated by previous positional information to a spot indicated by current positional information, to thereby extend created predicted route; and processing assessment part 16 for assessing, when new positional information of the mobile body is acquired by the positional information acquisition part 12, whether processing by the predicted route creation part 13 should be executed or processing by the predicted route extension part 15 should be executed, on the basis of the new positional information. |
