The detector has an upper semiconductor chip (12) which is provided with an upper semiconductor material as a substrate material. A lower semiconductor chip (22) differed from the upper semiconductor chip is provided with a lower semiconductor material as the substrate material. The upper and lower semiconductor chips are provided with major surfaces (14,24) opposed to each other. A lower detection structure (28) is arranged within the lower semiconductor chip to overlap with an upper detection structure (18) arranged within upper semiconductor chip. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing electromagnetic radiation detector.
