The tank has a water reservoir (1), in which a heating element is arranged to heat fresh water. An inlet (20) supplies the fresh water to the water reservoir, and a discharge port (22) removes the warm water from the water reservoir. An inlet-side valve device (34) automatically controls a closing element when the supply of fresh water exceeds a container-inner pressure-side threshold value. The inlet-side valve device stays in a closing position when the supply of fresh water falls below the threshold value.
