The present invention relates to a deburring method of a slab which can remove a burr from the slab completely and quickly, wherein the burr is generated on the lower side of a cut surface of the slab when the slab is cut into pieces at constant lengths by using a torch cutting machine in a continuous casting process. The deburring method of a slab according to the present invention comprises: a step of removing a first burr from the front end of the slab by normally rotating and raising a rotary hammer and moving the slab backwards when both first and second sensors detect the slab; a step of transferring the slab forwards by stopping the rotation of the rotary hammer and lowering the rotary hammer at the same time just after the front end of the slab, which moves backwards, passes through a detection section of the first sensor; and a step of removing a second burr from the rear end of the slab by reversely rotating the rotary hammer just after the slab, which moves forwards, passes through a detection section of the first sensor. The deburring method of a slab according to the present invention according to the present invention is provided to completely remove the burrs formed on the front and rear ends of the slab by setting a cutting direction to be the opposite direction to the progress of the slab, and to reduce inferiority for the following processes of the slab by adjusting the cutting time and position of the rotary hammer even though the alignment of the slab turns off the progress direction of the slab at a fixed angle, thereby reducing working hours spent on deburring.
