PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent decrease of fuel efficiency of a vehicle accompanying the activation of an emergency power source.SOLUTION: The backup power supply unit includes: a charging circuit 18 which is connected to the charging side of an electric double-layer capacitor 17, and which receives power supply via an input end 16 connected to a battery 11; a discharge circuit 19 connected to the discharge side of the electric double-layer capacitor 17; a summing diode 20 connected to the output side of the discharge circuit 19 as the anode side; an emergency power output unit 21 one side of which is connected to the output side of the summing diode 20 and the other side is connected to a collision detection unit 13 of the vehicle; and a comparison control section 22 that compares the output voltage from the input end 16 and the output voltage from the discharge circuit 19 to control the output voltage. When the battery is normal, the comparison control section controls the output voltage from the discharge circuit to be lower than the voltage at the input end; and when the battery is in an emergency state, the comparison control section controls the output voltage from the discharge circuit to be equal to or larger the operation voltage from the collision detection unit and outputs the voltage emergency power output unit. |
