PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure transmission of a packet with low delay if a network is close to a congestion situation.SOLUTION: A communication system 1 for transmitting and receiving packets in a packet transmission network comprises: a packet transmission node 12 for transmitting packets; a packet multiplexing node 11 for receiving packets; a path management system 14 for managing information on band setting for each line; and time synchronization server 15 for synchronizing time in the network. The packet multiplexing node 11 calculates transmission timing of a packet transmitted by the packet transmission node 12 such that arrival times do not overlap and without considering a transmission delay time. The packet multiplexing node 11 or the packet transmission node 12 performs correction to advance transmission start time of the transmission timing by the transmission delay time. The packet transmission node 12 transmits the packet to the packet multiplexing node 11 according to the corrected transmission timing. |
