The method involves simulating an infinitely distant light source (12), and receiving an image of the light source by a photo module (10). A wavefront profile of the light from the light source is determined by a wavefront sensor. An image sensor (102) is used as the wavefront sensor, by which a wavefront profile of the light falling from the light source through a lens (101) is determined. The simulation of the infinitely distant light source is carried out by collimator (122).
