The battery has a battery module (10) including a hard shell-housing (11), which is provided with isolating components (12) e.g. paintings, for mutual electrical isolation of adjacent lithium-ion battery cells (17) below each other. The isolating components are adapted for a low voltage-isolation. Other isolating components (13, 14) are arranged between electrically conductive battery module-components (15, 16) and the hard shell-housing for electrical isolation relative to the conductive battery module-components. The latter isolating components are adapted for high voltage-isolation. An independent claim is also included for a method for electrical isolating of battery cells with a hard shell-housing in a battery module.
