Disclosed is a Global Positioning System (GPS) terminal using a solar cell of which it uses the solar cell to charge the battery which can lead to increase the available time of the battery as well as efficiently manage the power in various circumstances of applied solar cell. The GPS terminal using the solar cell comprises a solar cell, a battery which can be charged, a charging circuit which can transfer the power generated from the solar cell to the pre-set voltage to the battery to charge it, a GPS signal processing unit which processes the received GPS signal from a GPS antenna to generate location information, and a main control unit that monitors the voltage outputted from the solar cell and controls the charging of the battery according to the outputted voltage from the solar cell to control the battery circuit.
