The present invention relates to a steering system using a chain and a sprocket. The steering system for vehicles used for changing a route of a vehicle as a driver wishes comprises: a steering shaft connected to a steering wheel to transmit a rotation motion transmitted from the steering wheel that a driver operates; a sprocket formed at the opposite part of the steering wheel of the steering shaft; a chain bar moving linearly according to the rotation of the steering shaft, arranged in a direction vertical to the steering shaft, connected to left and right tie rods; a chain fixated on the chain bar lengthwise having a gear teeth engaged with the sprocket; and a connector fixating the chain on the chain bar lengthwise. According to the present invention, the manufacturing costs of the gear teeth of a rack bar and a pinion can be reduced by replacing the gear teeth of the rack bar with a chain and the pinion with a sprocket and installing a packing between the chain and a chain bar; a steering system can be easily manufactured by enabling the easy assembly of the chain bar and the sprocket; and noise and vibration transmitted from the clearance between the gear teeth and a wheel can be reduced. |
