PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wearable and conductive textile patch for monitoring body analytes and/or delivering fluids to a body.SOLUTION: A system 10 mounted on a single patch 12 monitors glucose levels of a diabetic person and provides appropriate doses of insulin in response to the glucose measurements. A hand-held user interface can be provided for wirelessly controlling the system 10 and conductive pathways can be formed in the fabric of the patch 12. Components that can be integrated into the flexible patch 12 include a power source 14, a controller and a transmitter 16, an antenna 18, a temperature sensor 20, a fluid pump 22, an infusion set 24, an electrical pathway 26, switches, electrodes, connectors, resistors and other circuit elements. Such components can be mounted, embedded, or coated on to the flexible patch 12 instead of or in addition to surface mounting. |
