A method for setting wallpaper and a mobile terminal using the same are provided to enable a user to change preset wallpaper into desired wallpaper with minimum key manipulation in case that a mobile terminal is in an idle screen state. A mobile terminal comprises an input part, a display part, and a control part. The input part has a wallpaper control key. The display part outputs information. If the wallpaper control key is selected and inputted, the control part confirms whether the mobile terminal is in an idle screen state. If so, the control part instructs the display part to output a list of wallpaper images. If one among the wallpaper list is selected, the control part sets the selected wallpaper image as the idle screen of the mobile terminal. |
