PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polishing composition and a manufacturing method of a base plate for a magnetic disc using the polishing composition which are more suitable for use in application of grinding a base plate for a nickel phosphorus plating magnetic disc.SOLUTION: A polishing composition contains abrasive grains, an acid, an oxidizer and a defect reducing agent which is a compound having guanidine skeleton, and is used in application of grinding a base plate for a nickel phosphorus plating magnetic disc. Preferably the compound having guanidine skeleton is guanidine phosphate. |
