1276264 Friction composition based on 1,2- polybutadienes FIRESTONE TIRE & RUBBER CO 14 April 1970 [28 April 1969] 17818/70 Heading C3P A friction composition comprises asbestos, polybutadiene which has a molecular weight of at least 12,500 and at least 30% of its butadiene units in the 1,2-configuration, and a free-radical generator. The polybutadiene may be a mixture of a polybutadiene having 80% or more of its butadiene units in the 1,2-configuration and a polybutadiene having 8-10% of its butadiene units in the 1,2-configuration. The asbestos is preferably mixed with the polybutadiene in the form of a solution. The free radical generator is preferably a peroxide. The composition may contain coal dust, lead oxide, brass, ground rubber and graphite. |
