PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amplification device that simply improves coding efficiency.SOLUTION: The amplification device includes a limiter, a detection section, a modulation section, a combination section, a main amplifier and a peak amplifier. The limiter detects a phase component of an input signal. The detection section detects an amplitude component of the input signal. The modulation section modulates the amplitude component to output a multivalued modulation signal including a minimum value, an intermediate value and a maximum value. The combination section combines the multivalued modulation signal and the phase component. The main amplifier and the peak amplifier are fed with the combined signal. A combiner outputs a combination of an output of the main amplifier and an output of the peak amplifier. The main amplifier is turned off if the input multivalued modulation signal is the minimum value, and is turned on if the input multivalued modulation signal is the intermediate value and the maximum value. The peak amplifier is turned off if the input multivalued modulation signal is the minimum value and the intermediate value, and is turned on if the input multivalued modulation signal is the maximum value. |
