The present invention relates to: a one-handed helical polyacethylene compound represented by formula (I) [wherein each symbol is as defined in the description]; a method for producing the polyacethylene compound; an optical isomer separating agent comprising the polyacethylene compound; and a filler for a chiral column, which is produced by coating a carrier with the optical isomer separating agent. These products have excellent separation performance, in which the direction of helicity can be reversed with high efficiency in a solid state. Therefore, these products enable the switching of the asymmetry selectivity of a chiral column, and also enable the provision of a practically useful method for separating an optical isomer in a simple manner and at low cost.
