PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document reading device which detects the tip of a document accurately and also simplifies device configuration, making it possible to cut down the manufacturing cost of the device itself.SOLUTION: A document reading device has a reading unit 100 for reading data written in a document P, a transport means 200 for sending out the document P to the reading unit 100, and an ejection means 300 for ejecting the document P to the outside after the document P has had its data read by the reading unit 100. The reading unit 100 is configured by disposing a plurality of image sensors 110 in zigzag form and locating the image sensors 110 adjacent in a main scanning direction overlapping each other, and further has a platen glass 400 covering the image sensors 110 provided on its surface opposed to the document P and has a document introduction unit 500 for introducing the document P into the reading unit 100 provided on its surface opposed to the image sensors 110, the document introduction unit 500 consisting of a rotary body and provided with a document tip detector on one end side or on both sides of the rotary body. |
