[Also in Division E1S] A guide to steady a cable supporting a workman's cradle on a building face is screwed by a thread 54 to a stud on the building, such engagement releasing a catch 25 by means of shafts 42, 44 and plunger 34. The cable is inserted through a slot 23 into a guide 30, the catch 25 rotating about pivot 26, and being held in a position where it closes the slot 23 by a spring loaded plunger 61 engaging a notch 32. Operation of the plungers 34, 61 completes an electrical circuit through switches 64, 66 to permit the cradle to be lowered to another position. The cable is released by manually retracting plunger 61. |
