PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber capable of preventing a hammering sound from occurring.SOLUTION: A shock absorber D serving as means for solving a problem in the present invention, comprises: a cylinder 1; a partition wall member 2 inserted into the cylinder 1 in a slidable manner, for dividing the inside of the cylinder 1 into an extension side chamber R1 and a pressure side chamber R2; attenuation passages 3a and 3b communicating with the extension side chamber R1 and the pressure side chamber R2; a housing 15 forming a pressure chamber R3; a free piston 9 movably inserted into the housing 15, dividing the pressure chamber R3 into an extension side pressure chamber 7 communicating with the extension side chamber R1 through an extension side flow channel 5 and a pressure side pressure chamber 8 communicating with the pressure side chamber R2 through a pressure side flow channel 6; and spring elements 10 and 11 producing urging force for preventing the free piston 9 from being displaced with respect to the housing 15. The shock absorber D includes an extension side cushion chamber C1 for preventing the free piston 9 from being displaced in an extension direction, and a pressure side cushion chamber C2 for preventing the free piston 9 from being displaced in a pressure direction. |
