A method and device for processing a radio link failure. The method comprises: in a specified state, starting a delay timer after receiving an out-of-synchronization report from a physical layer; and deciding whether to process a radio link failure according to whether the delay timer receives a synchronization instruction from the physical layer before timeout. According to the embodiments of the present invention, when a radio link fails in a CELL_FACH state and an IDLE mode, the radio link can be restored, and the existence of a MAC layer protocol timer in this scenario is made meaningful. |
