The present invention is provided with a polarization element, and a uniaxial crystal substrate which is provided adhered to the polarization element, and which has an optical axis which is within 30˚from the thickness direction thereof. The crystal substrate is characterized by being set to a thickness such that the state of polarization of light incident on the crystal substrate and the state of polarization when exiting the crystal substrate correspond within a prescribed range.
