PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To predict: a direction in which reflection waves including HIFU multiple reflection are made incident to an ultrasonic wave transmission/reception surface of a diagnostic probe; and damage caused by the incidence of the reflection waves.SOLUTION: An ultrasonic treatment apparatus includes a damage prediction part 115 for predicting damage that an ultrasonic wave transmission/reception surface of a diagnostic probe 14 suffers by reflection waves of treatment ultrasonic waves irradiated from a treatment probe 15. The damage prediction part 115 allows repeated irradiation of test ultrasonic waves corresponding to at least one pulse of treatment ultrasonic waves of a set strength in a convergence position prior to irradiation of the treatment ultrasonic waves in the convergence position. In synchronization with the repeated irradiation of the test ultrasonic waves, a plurality of reception scanning lines set in the diagnostic probe is scanned sequentially to receive test reflection waves and the received test reflection waves are analyzed for the respective reception scanning lines to calculate damage that the ultrasonic wave transmission/reception surface suffers. |
