PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel perfume compound which can impart aroma and flavor such as milky feeling, fatty feeling, and creamy feeling to foods, beverages or the like, and a novel perfume composition that includes the compound as an active ingredient.SOLUTION: This invention provides 5-formyloxy alkanoic acid ethyl represented by the following formula (1), where R represents a 3-7C alkyl group, excluding 5-formyloxy decanoic acid ethyl, and a perfume composition that includes 5-formyloxy alkanoic acid ethyl represented by the formula (1) as an active ingredient. |
