<p>A system and method includes displaying a prompt on a display device of a first computing device to input information for an e-commerce session. Next, a selection for completing the e-commerce session by an information transfer is received. A machinereadable code that captures data corresponding to the e-commerce session, such as a web session identifier, is generated by the first computing device. The machinereadable code is made available for scanning by the first computing device. A message derived from the machine-readable and produced by a second computing device that scans the machine-readable code is received over a computer network. In response to receiving the message derived from the machine-readable code, information is transferred from a secure server to the e-commerce session. Before any information is transferred from the secure server to the e-commerce session, a prompt may be displayed on the second computing device requesting authorization for the transfer.</p> |
