The invention relates to a sensor arrangement (101) for machine vision of a robot, the arrangement comprising: a camera (102) having an optical detector (103) and an optical axis (104); a monochrome light source (105); an alignment device (107) configured for aligning radiation emitted by the light source such that the radiation propagates along the optical axis; a housing (108) enclosing the camera, the light source and the alignment device, said housing comprising a transparent window (109) intersecting the optical axis; and a control unit (110) configured for controlling the camera to obtain a first digital image of an object when the light source is turned on and obtain a second digital image of said object when the light source is turned off, and for processing the first and second images to obtain a processed image of the object based on both the first and second images.
