The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display device comprising: a gate driving unit formed in a second non-display area facing a first non-display area in which a data driving unit is formed; and a switching unit capable of turning on or off each gate line in one or both of third and fourth non-display areas between the first and second non-display areas. A liquid crystal display device according to the present invention comprises: a panel formed in four non-display areas outside of a display area; a data driving unit formed in the first non-display area to operate date lines formed along a first direction in the display area; a gate driving unit formed in the second non-display area facing the first non-display area to operate the gate lines formed along a second direction vertical to the first direction in the display area; a timing controller for operating the gate driving unit and data driving unit; and a first switching unit formed in one or both of the third and fourth non-display areas between the first and second non-display areas and capable of turning on or off the gate lines in serial order. In the display area, connection lines formed in parallel to the data lines extended from the gate driving unit are connected to each gate line.
