The present specification discloses engineered Staphylococcal Enterotoxin B (SEB), a polynucleotide encoding the SEB, and a vector and a host cell comprising the SEB. Further, the present specification discloses engineered SEB or wild type SEB, a fusion protein comprising a target-specific polypeptide fused to the SEB, and a use thereof as a disease treating agent. The SEB variant and the fusion protein comprising the SEB variant are prepared so as to specifically recognize specific cells, to induce apoptosis of specific cells such as cancers through activation of the immune system, and thus can be usefully applied for the treatment of diseases.
