The present invention relates to a barrier system for an LNG cargo hold and a construction method thereof. For an additional insulation layer, the barrier system for an LNG cargo hold has an insulation reinforcing member layer composed of a plywood plate used as a second insulation box instead of forming a second insulation box on the inner surface of a singular insulation box layer. The present invention can obtain excellent insulation performance and can reduce manufacturing costs. Also, the present invention can stably fix the layers and can reduce errors caused when the layers are installed with the peripheral insulation boxes by fixing the singular insulation box layer and the insulation reinforcing member layer to the inner surface of a ship using a fixing unit. The present invention can increase insulation efficiency by utilizing a composite material.
