PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device which can be miniaturized by improving space efficiency, and a method of manufacturing the optical device.SOLUTION: With respect to an optical device 1, an optical substrate 10, an electric substrate 20, a fiber tray 30, etc., are housed in an enclosure 60. Especially, the electric substrate 20 is made smaller than the optical substrate 10, and the fiber tray 30 is arranged in a space defined by an outer peripheral surface 20s of the electric substrate 20 and an inner surface 60s of the enclosure 60. That is, a space between the electric substrate 20 and the enclosure 60 in the optical device 1 is not a dead space but is utilized to handle an excess length of an optical fiber. Therefore, the optical device 1 can be miniaturized by improving space efficiency. |
